Tayside Association
for the Deaf provides a team of social workers to give a specialist
service to Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deafened people of all ages.
We also work with service users, families and carers.
We provide this
service on behalf of three councils
- Angus
- Dundee
City Council
- Perth and
Kinross.

All of the social
workers are trained to communicate with D/deaf people.
We work to support
deaf people experience equal access to other services.
Referrals can
come from D/deaf people themselves, their families or friends, other
professionals such as GPs, Audiologists, Health visitors, local authority
social workers.
If you want to talk something through with us, do not hesitate
to call to meet with the duty social worker.

Social Work
Training
We have
long established links with the University of Dundee (including Northern
College). We regularly contribute to the Diploma in Social Work programme
at the University, particularly on the topic Working with Diversity.
We also have an accredited practice teacher and offer placements for
students on the same course.
