British Sign Language Courses
British Sign Language (BSL) is the natural language of the Deaf community in Britain and is used by more than 50,000 Deaf people as their first or preferred language. BSL is a visual gestural/spatial language, which is governed by its own grammar rules and principles.

We run a number of courses in British Sign Language (BSL) at various levels. Please contact us for further details.

Introdutory Course
This course is aimed at individuals who wish to learn the basics of communication with Deaf people and is held over a number of weeks or 'one-off' taster courses can be designed to suit the needs of your group.

Level 1 Certificate in BSL Course
60 hour course leading to nationally recognised certificate (suitable for beginners).

Level 2 Certificate in BSL Course
120 hour course (90 hours classroom based, 30 hours practice and contact with Deaf people) leading to nationally recognised certificate (suitable for more advanced signers).

Sessional & Intermediate Classes
For those who have completed Level 1 and want to improve their skills further – ideal for bridging the gap between Level 1 and Level 2 courses.

Deaf Awareness Training
Provided for groups who require information on deaf issues and the subsequent effects and implications for deaf people.
